Patriot Front Nazis Hold Flash March in Center City

Patriot Front Nazis in Philly July 3rd 2021

Late last night, a group of around 50 Neo-Nazis held a flash march through Center City. They were members of Patriot Front, the same Neo-Nazi group responsible for defacing the George Floyd memorials in Olney, Newark and Brooklyn. Patriot Front has also engaged in marches like these in other cities.

We are still gathering information, but around 10pm the nazis arrived in rented moving trucks and gathered on Delaware Avenue. They then marched to City Hall with banners and smoke bombs. Some of them were armed with clubs and other weapons.

Despite the march being unannounced, Patriot Front marched during a busy time in Center City, and Philly gave them the welcome they deserved.

These escalating provocations from Patriot Front and their allies must be confronted directly. Time and again it is proven that ignoring or avoiding conflict with reactionaries only delays the inevitable and makes the conflict worse.

Patriot Front Deface George Floyd Murals in Olney, BK and NJ

UPDATE: Patriot Front have also defaced George Floyd statues in Brooklyn and Newark, NJ which were unveiled just a few days ago for Juneteenth.

Stills from footage of the nazis who vandalized the George Floyd memorial in Brooklyn.

Original story below:

A memorial mural to George Floyd in Olney was defaced by Patriot Front Neo-Nazis overnight.

Sometime last night, Fascists associated with the Neo-Nazi group Patriot Front painted and stenciled over the George Floyd memorial at N. 5th st and Olney Ave.

Patriot Front is a splinter faction of Vanguard America, one of the major organizers of the Unite the Right rally in 2017. Vanguard America brought James Fields to Charlottesville, where he plowed his car into a crowd of Anti-Fascist protestors, murdering Heather Heyer and injuring many others.

More recently locally, the group has engaged in late night provocations like these, putting up flyers and stickers in Center city and S. Philly.

Patriot Front has a large amount of crossover in membership with the New Jersey European Heritage Association (NJEHA), which as also run propaganda ops in Philly from time to time.

NJEHA is led by Dan D’Ambly and Ron Sheehy, both of New Jersey, who we have listen in our local fascists section.

This thread on twitter also has lots of info on NJEHA/Patriot Front associates in the area.

We will be updating this story as we get more info. Anyone with any information about who defaced the George Floyd memorial should contact us.

Rest in Power to George Floyd, Death to White Supremacy and Fascism.

Aggravated Assault/Chaos 88 Frontman Warren Meikle, ROT IN HELL!

Warren Mieckle wasted his entire life.

Idavox is reporting that lifelong Neo-Nazi bonehead Warren Meikle has finally died. From the site:

“Meikle was an early member of Atlantic City “Skinheads”, who in the eighties was one of the more violent hate groups in New Jersey… Meikle was among the more prominent members of the group because of his band Aggravated Assault, who’s album It Could Happen To You – the title song that threatened harm coming to those mentioned in the lyrics – was put out by the neo-Nazi label Resistance Records in 1993. Another Nazi label, Tri-State Terror, released its second album Out on Bail as well as a split release with Blue Eyed Devils titled Hate Crimes. Later, Meikle would form another band, Chaos 88 which put out three releases…

In recent years, Meikle had married Pittsburgh tattoo artist Lettia Suchevich and moved there from Atlantic City. Neo-fascist stickers including that of his band Aggravated Assault were reported seen and taken down by antifa in Pittsburgh, and the Pittsburgh City Paper retracted a story about female tattoo artists that featured Suchevich after it was learned the writer included a photo of the artist wearing the t-shirt of her husband’s band, and doctored the photo to remove the swastika tattoo on her arm. Meikle’s Facebook page lists him as divorced, and he eventually returned to New Jersey sometime in the fast few years. Two years ago, it was reported that Meikle was seriously injured in a two-car collision in Southampton, NJ that tied up traffic for four hours.”

He won’t be missed.

ALERT! Proud Boys to Rally in Clark Park on Saturday 9/19/2020

Wear a mask. Bring your friends. Defend your city.

UPDATE 9/21/20: Unsurprisingly, the Proud Boys failed to materialize for their demonstration against Anti-Fascism. A few were spotted on the margins nearby PPD, and a few low-tier right wing live streamers attempted to get themselves beat up so they could make a gofundme about it. Otherwise uneventful day in the park. Of course the PB’s are attempting to spin it as a “troll” or “trap,” which is… the best they can do?

We are not the organizers of the event (though some reporters and nazi bloggers will insist otherwise regardless) but stand in solidarity with the organizers and everyone coming out to let the Proud Boys know their “Klan 3.0” bullshit is not welcome.

Original Flyer that prompted the above Vigil being called:

This move by the Proud Boys (should they show up) is not only an escalation, but a transparent provocation. Remember that these groups are coordinating directly with Philly PD. Their collective goal is to assault, doxx, entrap, and falsify charges against anyone who stands against Fascism.

Forever Liberty, Solidarity, and Equality,

Ian Hoffman, Identity Evropa PA coordinator

Ian Hoffman AKA Papa Pizzagate; Identity Evropa PA Coordinator

One of the Identity Evropa originals!

A devoted white nationalist, Ian Hoffman of Palmyra, PA was arrested on assault and battery charges at Unite the Right in 2017,(https://archive.st/lryf ). He was doxxed then, but its time for a redoxx! Ian Hoffman is the Pennsylvania coordinator for Identity Evropa and handles the t-shirt orders for his fellow nazis. One time he put up stickers in Harrisburg, before they were promptly removed by locals.

He’s 30 years old, born on July 25, 1988 and is a diehard Trump supporter. Hoffman enjoys trolling the opposition using racial slurs, and posting it to Discord: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/481597551272001546/509197425601413136/unknown.png. He has declared that “we have a president who is openly calling himself a nationalist. Demographics are being discussed openly (and not always favorably) on cable television. Senators and pundits are using language that would only have been heard from White Nationalists as recently as 5 years ago.” Hoffman goes on to say that he thinks Trump won because he hates a lot of the same things regular Americans hate too, like Globalism, political correctness, bureaucracy, the “deep state”, multiculturalism and so forth. Further illustrating his belief that the time is right for proudly claiming one’s white identity, Hoffman helped cement connections between Identity Evropa and politician Steve King of IA, saying “The left went full court press on ‘STEVE KING IS A WHITE NATIONALIST’ and he still won.”

Hoffman’s social media is full of loads of garbage, including this sad attempt at poetics:

“Nationalism is Rising

Globalism is falling

Neoliberalism is on it’s way out

Trump taught the American public to hate the media, and they do.

People are seeking other answers to the truths

of our broken society and system

White Identity is in the air.”

Around the holidays, Ian Hoffman recommends encouraging Identity Evropa members to “name the Jew” to their parents and family. Going on to say that “White people [are] not acting in self-preservation and group interest. Let’s focus on improving that. Promoting these ‘grand Jewish plans’ makes us sound extreme, inaccessible and unhinged, so may as well drop it and focus on what we can do.  Ultimately, whether or not you believe in the plan is irrelevant” and ending his diatribe with “I’m SURE that if (((THEY))) didn’t circumcise young men, America would be [a] white ethno-paradise.”

An active shit-poster, Ian is easily searchable on social media; Ian Hoffman’s twitter is www.twitter.com/papapizzagate with an archive of http://archive.fo/NLKOS, his followers are archived here http://archive.fo/jajud, plus which white supremacist trash bags he’s following can always be found here http://archive.fo/IfIG3 His private youtube, is here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1L78ORLT1zY and his public YouTube is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChoqPqK5guwUdFXSgVW0XVw/videos(http://archive.is/9u498 ) which he makes a lot of money off of https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/481597551272001546/516044381526949891/unknown.png so flag him for explicit content to get him de-platformed and make this Nazi broke again.

Don’t forget Ian, the internet is forever and we will keep finding you and finding you.

Bentley Hatchett, fascist in Spring Grove, PA

Meet Bentley Hatchett II, aka Rosenkranz, writer for TFP Student Action & Foundation For A Christian Civilization

Although he doesn’t appear on Discord, perhaps due to using a different username, or altogether opting out of using service, Bentley Hatchett II AKA Rosenkranz was identified based on the participation in one of Identity Evropa’s Slack work spaces (as leaked by Unicorn Riot), where he used his real name in the description of his slack username. Bentley is an alumnus of Baylor University in Waco, Texas and is originally from Texas, where he resided in Austin. He is 24 years old.

taken from his facebook, archived at http://archive.is/3jmzz

Per his facebook page, Bentley Hatchett II is a part of Tradition, Family, Property Student Action, which is part of the Tradition, Family and Property network, which is one of the world’s largest anticommunist and anti-socialist networks worldwide. The organization’s national headquarters are in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania. Here is a screenshot from Bentley’s TFP profile.

his TFP profile is archived here: https://archive.fo/6Khli

TFP is already a suspected fascist organization that lightly hides under the veneer of religious freedom. It has been criticized for its homophobic rhetoric, its embrace of creationism, and its participation in climate change denial. You can read all about it on their Wikipedia page.

TFP Student Action’s activities include distributing fliers and other literature on the streets of universities, sponsoring speakers on campuses, hosting student conferences, and organizing protests and petitions, especially against the provision of information about abortion and the acceptance of LGBT students at Catholic universities. Its most recent campaign is against the 96 Catholic colleges and universities that allow LGBT student groups. Homophobia, transphobia white supremacy, and fascism are always linked. Perhaps this is why Bentley took it upon himself to join Identity Evropa, now known as American Identity Movement (AIM) after their communications were leaked, perhaps seeking to build coalitions between white supremacist organizations and ardently anticommunist organizations like TFP.

The headquarters of Tradition, Family, and Property is in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, which is the town where Bentley lives as well.

Bentley Hatchett’s LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/bentley-hatchett-ii-522026142/

Bentley lists the Foundation For A Christian Civilization, a 501(c)3 organization. We researchers wonder how the IRS would feel if they knew the Foundation was employing known white nationalists with intentions of connecting transphobia, and homophobic to white supremacy. Keeping in mind that nonprofit status for hate groups is not allowed. Their GuideStar profile connects them directly to tfp.org

pulled from America Needs Fatima, American Tfp guidestar, archived here: http://archive.fo/PyKGJBack in Bentley’s hometown of Austin, it looks like Bentley’s dad, Bentley Gerald Hatchett I, has racked up quite the record of his own with multiple charges of unlawfully carrying a prohibited weapon, and even familial violence.

Identity Evropa’s Pennsylvania leader exposed

From Panic in the Discord

Meet David Fanelli, Identity Evropa Fash In Pennsylvania

Going by the username V. Balboa on Discord, David Fanelli, born on 03/28/1988, is a prolific member and the designated leader of operations for Identity Evropa in the state of Pennsylvania.  He has over 1,700 messages on the Identity Evropa Discord server, and has been with Identity Evropa since their inception. Fanelli appears to be responsible for almost all of the IE stickers around Philly. According to his social media, Fanelli currently works for Boeing.

You can spot him very briefly in the following video in a blue t-shirt, on the side of other fascist groups, and standing right next to the Identity Evropa flag at the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville:

You can him hear yell “build the wall!” at about 22 seconds in, and he makes a few later appearances, as well. You’ll also be able to see David wearing the same glasses in these photos from “Unite the Right” and pictures on his Facebook.

The video has been archived offline, so even if David somehow gets it removed, it will still be available for viewing and re-posting.

David liked to post pictures of himself on Discord — before Identity Evropa was deplatformed from the service this weekend.

Here, you can see him sporting his IE apparel at a Trump rally:

Just to make the connection crystal clear, here’s his Facebook:

He put his antisemitism on display regularly in the Discord logs, sometimes using triple parenthesis in messages, like this post:

He admits his, and Identity Evropa’s, political intentions are to build a white ethno-state:

David liked to post pictures of his dog on Discord. He also posts those on Facebook:

AAAAAND David’s books on Facebook. Matchy-matchy.

Fanelli is invested in infiltrating local GOP offices nationwide, but especially in Pennsylvania. As you can see from his archived Facebook friends list, he has many friends that are local pundits and politicians in the GOP in Pennsylvania.

You can see his full archived friends list here: http://archive.is/j50Hq

You can view Fanelli’s archived profile here: http://archive.is/nOnuP

Fanelli posted this photo on Facebook on October 25, 2018, captioned “GOP dinner party.” After doing some sleuthing, it looks like he was rubbing shoulders with the GOP at the Center City GOP Pre-Election Party with Sen. Scott Wagner on October 25 in Philadelphia.

Klan Leader from Johnstown, PA Dies

Reposted from The Tribune-Democrat:

A prominent white supremacist leader and former constable from Johnstown, described by the Southern Poverty Law Center as “emblematic of the gutter aspects of the Ku Klux Klan thanks to his lengthy criminal history,” died last week.

Barry E. Black, 70, died on Wednesday in his home, according to an obituary.

Multiple remembrances posted below Black’s obituary on dignitymemorial.com include the phrase “Non Silba Sed Anthar,” which the Anti-Defamation League says is “one of the more commonly used Klan slogans.” A mixture of Latin and Gothic, the slogan is intended to mean “Not for self, but for others.”

“There is a great empty hole in my world today as big as the heavens where he reigned for so many years,” a person using the handle “Rev. Ken BigMan Ewsichek” wrote in one of those posts. “ ‘Non Silba Sed Anthar,’ the motto of the Klan. ‘Not for self but for other’s’ (sic) described Barry Black perfectly.”

Ewsichek’s post also contained several abbreviations that the ADL identifies as Klan-related slogans, including “AKIA,” short for “A Klansman I Am”; “ITSUB,” an acronym for “In The Sacred Unfailing Being,” a reference to God; and “KLASP,” an acronym for “Klannish Loyalty, A Sacred Principle.”

Black was born in 1948, according to his profile on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s website. That birth year matches the one given in his obituary.

In 1992, he founded the Keystone Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, a breakaway faction of the now-defunct Invisible Empire Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, according to the SPLC.

That same year, he was elected constable in Cambria County and spent three months in office before being removed because of his criminal history, which, according to the SPLC, included guilty pleas to larceny, burglary and firearms violations. During his brief tenure as constable, he was “accused of tampering with mail and extolling the virtues of the KKK to a prisoner he was transporting,” according to the SPLC.

Six years later, in 1998, he burned a cross at a Klan gathering in Virginia and was arrested for and convicted of violating the state’s ban on cross burnings. He sought legal help from the American Civil Liberties Union and made national headlines when the group appointed David P. Baugh, a black attorney, to represent him.

The case, Virginia v. Black, went all the way to the Supreme Court, where Baugh successfully argued that Black’s right to free speech had been violated. In a 6-3 decision, the Court overturned Black’s conviction and struck down the Virginia statute that considered burning a cross prima facie evidence of intent to intimidate.

After the court decision, Black “receded back into the movement’s shadows and the International Keystone Knights dwindled in strength,” according to the SPLC.

All Out November 17th – #Pushback Against Proud Boys and Threepers in Philly!

UPDATE: According the the opposition’s event page, they have moved a block from Washington Square Park to Independence Hall “due to the sound system” they will be using.

When: November 17th @ 11am (show up early)

Where: Independence Hall (5th and Chestnut St., Philadelphia)

What: Let Proud Boys, Three Percenters, and miscellaneous far right Trump Supporters know they are unwelcome.

On November 17th in Washington Square Park, far right Trump supporters will hold a rally entitled “We the People.” The language used in the event page is vague and the rally seems to be solely a provocation against liberals and leftists in Philadelphia. The event is being organized by Pennsylvania “Three Percenter” militia members in conjunction with “Sports, Beer and Politics,” a page on Facebook that is run by two “1st Degree” members of The Proud Boys, Sonny Sullivan and Zach Rehl. Both of the SBP admins live in Philadelphia.

The Proud Boys have been in the news a lot lately after a large group of their members assaulted 3 anti-racist protestors following a speaking event by Proud Boys founder Gavinc McGinnis. However, if you are not familiar with this “Western Chauvinist fraternal organization,” here are some resources:

Trump’s “Second Amendment People”?: The U.S. Patriot Movement Today

A coalition of local and regional organizations, #Pushback Campaign, has put out a call and made an event page to protest the Proud Boys and Threepers. We fully support this move to defend Philly from these white supremacist, misogynist, anti-queer xenophobes.

All those coming out should make preparations for safety. The Proud Boys, in particular, have a record of moving in large packs and provoking people and then attacking them if they object to their doing things like screaming “Trump!” or “Build the Wall!” Proud Boys will also just attack individuals they identify as “Antifa” or Muslim or Trans if those people are alone. They especially employ these tactics after their scheduled event ends, when people are filtering out in small numbers away from bystanders. Travel in groups and be prepared to defend yourself.

Be mindful that the cops will also be targeting people perceived as “Antifa” or radical and, as seen in NYC and Providence recently, will not intervene to stop a fight unless the fash are losing. Plan strategies that acknowledge those realities, watch each other’s backs, and don’t depend on the state.

See you in the streets,

Keystone United Exposed: Closing Thoughts

We hope that the info we’ve collected is helpful to comrades around Pennsylvania and elsewhere. We will be copying all the Keystone United Exposed articles to a stand-alone blog so, as time passes and new content is published here, that info remains easy to find.

Keystone United Exposed effectively identified the major players within KSS, as well as many of its foot soldiers and supporters. It provided a start in mapping out the distribution of KU/KSS around the state and region, so we can know where they are really strong and when they are swelling numbers with out-of-town support.

From l to r: Unknown, Joe Phy, Scott Costa, Jason Cunningham, Ian McCorts, Unknown, Bob Gaus, Bryan Vanagaitis, AJ Olsen and Nunzio Pellegrino of Keystone State Skinheads. All except unknowns were profiled as part of KU Exposed.
Keystone United members. From l to r: Steve Smith, Unknown, Bob Gaus, Joe Garvey, Bryan Vanagaitis, Cody Haulman, Ryan Wojtowicz, Scott Costa, Ian McCorts, Travis Cornell (rip lol), Chris Croumbley, Josh Martin and Shane Dilling. All but the one unknown were exposed during our series.

Having identified this many members and associates of KU/KSS will also lead to us identifying future associates more easily. We exposed many bones at their jobs and to people who live in their communities. However, one drawback of a project like this is such a flood of information can make it inevitable that people will begin to slip through the cracks. It’s possible that by focusing on a smaller number and really campaigning around, for example, getting Steve Smith fired from Gertrude Hawk’s Chocolates warehouse in Dunmore, we could have had a larger impact. The good news is there’s no reason why we can’t still do that.

While preparing these articles, we learned several things that had to be considered and reconciled with our subjects’ associations with a violent white supremacist gang; filled with men who glorify Hitler and Colonialism, who promise “Freedom Through Nationalism” but practice racial terror. Including the frequency that Keystone United members and associates had successfully either totally hidden or sanitized the group’s image for many people in their lives. This sort of “low-intensity,” year round outreach work (aka being fake friendly) is insidiously effective in minimizing the eventual impact once they are eventually exposed. “Oh no! Not Bob… He’s never said anything offensive to me! Well, a few jokes…” is what some will say. Nazis collect these “friends” as an insurance policy against future exposure.

KSS rallying along with their friends in the PA State Militia for anti-refugee “Overpasses Across America” protests From l to r: AJ Olsen, Joe Phy, Ryan Wojtowicz, Steve Smith, and Pat Rogers. All were profiled in KU exposed.
Keystone United members attending Trump rally in Harrisburg. Jimmy Thorson is turning back towards camera. Melissa and Bob Gaus are in center. All 3 were profiled in KU exposed.

Keystone United has largely maintained their course during the Trump era. Unlike Heimbach and the TWP or the NSM, KU/KSS did not overreach early or open up the gates to any potential murderer they could slap a white polo on. Keystone United abandoned publicly using language about “Racial Holy War” (RaHoWa) or overthrowing the “Zionist Occupied Government” of the U.S. long before Trump. What has changed, though, is that now KU/KSS has a new PR tactic at their disposal, the label of “Trump Supporter.” KU/KSS uses that aforementioned outreach work to reinforce the notions being pushed by right wing media that a) anti-fascists are indiscriminately describing as nazis and attacking all trump supporters or anyone who disagrees with far left politics and b) all actions against trump supporters are being done by Antifa crews or organizations. Both of these claims are patently false. But now, with many major media outlets pushing similar narratives, they have a more receptive audience.

We know that we can’t convey to everyone as to the level of threat KU/KSS represents. This is disheartening, both as Anti-Fascists and as people who, largely, have experienced direct violence from this group or groups allied to them. And ultimately, the conclusion is that white conservatives generally, (and some POC conservatives) don’t really dislike Nazis very much at all. It would seem, that for many of them, the biggest concern is being lumped in with them, and a frustration with nazis not being able to keep their racist rhetoric in the coded language that is popular among “white america.” That said, we hope that this series has made it clear that KSS has not gone away, and their influence and support network extends far beyond their membership.

Keystone United rallying in Harrisburg. A: Scot Costa B: Travis Cornell (rip lol) C: Shane Dilling D: Ian McCorts G: Ryan Wojtowicz H: Steve Smith I: Bob Gaus J: Bryan Vanagaitis K: Chris Croumbley L: Cody Haulman. All were profiled in KU exposed.

When members of the Golden State Skinheads (a crew allied with KSS), wearing TWP shirts, attacked and stabbed anti-fascists in Sacramento in 2016 before being driven off the streets, TWP spokesman Matt Parott attempted to frame it to the media as a fight between “pro and anti-trump groups.” Because of the spiteful mentality of Trump supporters in the face of ever-increasing evidence of his incompetence, narcissism, and corruption, they will defend anyone willing to still publicly identify as a pro Trump. Anti-Fascists need to be aware of this dynamic and begin formulating new strategies to wedge groups like KSS and Blood and Honour from the GOP base. The evidence of what happens if we fail is in the increasingly Fascist rhetoric and tactics being used by pro-trump sectors of government and law enforcement, not to mention all the recent dog whistles to nazism coming out of those sectors.

Pat Rogers of KU/KSS repping support for Golden State Skinheads after word of possible charges for their members stabbing several Anti-Fascists in Sacramento in 2016.

Exposing a nazi is crucial. It can largely neutralize their crossover political organizing, add a tremendous social cost, and makes them think twice about attacking someone, knowing that they will be identified immediately by Anti-Fascists. For KU/KSS, public exposure also undermines the generous amount of effort they put in to distancing their group from its more openly neo-nazi past. However, it is the follow-up that gets the goods. The people who contacted workplaces, passed out flyers around the homes of KSS members, pushed for their expulsion from social clubs and sports teams, and took other actions have done just as much as us to make this a success.

One area we did not touch on during this series as much as we’d like is KU/KSS’ involvement in the “Anti-Antifa movement.” Anti-Antifa Pennsylvania shirts are printed and sold by KSS members, and they are involved in running an Anti-Antifa blog and website that publishes information on Anti-Racists and Anti-Fascists. KU nazis are very encouraging of the Anti-Antifa label as a stand in for more openly nazi imagery and as a unifying point between white nationalists and other far right nationalists who conflict with antifa because of our left and anarchist politics. Pushing Anti-Antifa as a brand within the larger pro-trump right is likely to be a strategy for KU/KSS over the next few years, and the groundwork has already been laid by media outlets, Trump, and 4chan.

Several members of KU/KSS can be seen wearing Anti-Antifa t-shirts in this pic from LED 2017.

We have successfully identified almost all of the attendees of last year’s Leif Erikson Day event in Philly. Only those who hid their faces or stayed away from Fairmount Park have escaped detection so far. So while ultimately our goal is to stop KU from holding Leif Erikson Day at all, the information we gather from it’s continuation is a nice consolation prize. Thanks to last year’s LED, we were able to identify Joe Garvey, Chris Croumbley, Anthony Marcink, and Travis Cornell (rip lol), all previously unknown to us, as Keystone United associates. We were also able to confirm the continued involvement of several individuals who had not been sighted at public KU events for several years, including Shane Dilling and Liam Schaff.

Some of those KSS nazis wore masks because they have something to lose from being exposed by us. Help us identify the “unknowns.”  If anyone has information about the any of the unidentified nazis picture in this series, please send it our way.

It is common to end on a note acknowledging that white supremacy and racism are much larger than neo-nazi bonehead crews or their more media-friendly iterations.  While this is true, attempts to compartmentalize groups like Keystone United from the larger “mainstream” right seem rooted more in wishful thinking and denial than reality. KU has synthesized American libertarian conservatism with national socialist “race science” to make both more palatable to the other. Two Keystone United leaders are Luzerne County GOP officials. In the process of this article, we exposed KU members/associates as working for city governments, in large unions, and for international software firms. Keystone United associates are/were active in biker clubs, veterans groups, roller derby leagues, music scenes and local government. Tired tropes and finger pointing about “living in mom’s basement” on both sides of this conflict are generally inaccurate, Daniel “Jack Corbin” McMahon excepted. Anti-Fascists in this state should not discount how embedded Keystone United are in their communities.

Steve Smith and Ryan Wojtowicz of Keystone United. Both are Luzerne County GOP committeemen.

When Bob Gaus and several other KU members attended Trump’s rally in Harrisburg, they did not sit in some special section. When they (likely) went out to get a drink afterwards, they did not go to a nazis-only bar. When they talk politics at the bar with people belonging to “the mainstream right,” those people are most likely left with the impression that they have more in common than difference with the KU members. If we learn nothing else from Trump’s ascension, it should be that the distance between a “non racist” republican (or democrat/independent for that matter) and a neo-nazi is much smaller than we like to believe, and the unifying of those forces is a very real threat.

Nazis have embedded themselves in groups like The Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer or started multi-racial pan-right groups like Vinlanders Social Club founder Brien James’ American Guard.

Republicans have utilized dog whistle and crypto-fascist talking points to retain supporters among the racist right, while not alienating POC and non-racist conservatives. Anti-Fascists have relied too heavily on accusations of racism as a panacea solution to the far right, and the far right has adapted. They have dozens of strategies in place to undermine those accusations before they are even made. We have to take the more difficult path of dissecting the full contents of the ideologies of the far right and conveying why they should be opposed on a plethora of grounds, including cis hetero-sexist positions, militarism and colonialism, and supporting capitalist exploitation of the working class, in addition to white supremacy and racism. Otherwise we will continue to hand groups like Proud Boys, Patriot Prayer and American Guard an easy way to insulate themselves from association with orthodox fascist groups, and an easy way to portray us as hysterical or dishonest.

We would like to thank all those who took action this month based on the articles we’ve released. As we mentioned, actions have already begun and are likely to continue for some time. As this is being written, it is unclear when or if Keystone United will hold their Leif Erikson Day event in Philly. It is possible they’ve even held it already in secret. Should they do so, we have the tools to hold them accountable long after they scurry out of Fairmount, back to their homes in Philly or elsewhere in the state. It is a point of pride for us to put a stop to this demonstration, but not only have we effectively neutralized it as a source of recruitment or propaganda for KU, we have purposed it as an intelligence trove for ourselves. So stay home or come on out, boys. Either way, we’ll use it to our advantage and to further our ultimate goal of destroying Keystone United for good.

Finally, predictably, there has been some blow back from KU/KSS/BNH regarding this series. Threats and harassment has been sent from KU members and supporters in all directions, including to non-involved persons and former members. Sometimes for something as simple as sharing an article. We send our respect and solidarity to the folks facing any sort of harassment as a result of the series. Threats against ourselves have also been levied, both of legal action and assault. For our part, we refuse to be intimidated by a group of coward liars. Two-faced scumbags who have the nerve to call others “degenerates.” Who attack brutally in swarms and talk tough behind police but who cower in our city, coming unannounced and bitterly unwelcome, staying briefly and leaving quickly. Every flash demo and rally, every threat and assault, every rape and murder, creates more of us. It reinforces our resolve. This is the city of gritty, fuckers, and we’re just getting started.

Keystone United Exposed Day 30 – Jason Cunningham

NOTE: Today, Leif Erikson Day, is Day 30 of our month-long series “Keystone United Exposed.” Before we get to today’s article, we wanted to let everyone know to check back tomorrow for a BONUS DAY of Keystone United exposed. You didn’t think we were done… did you?

Keystone State Skinheads member Jason Cunningham.

Jason Cunningham is a neo-nazi and longtime Keystone State Skinheads member. He has been in attendance at several of the Leif Erikson Day events in Philly as well as other KSS protests and actions around PA. He grew up in New Jersey, at different times attending Pitman High School and Arthur P. Schalick HS in Gloucester County and Elmer, respectively, and then lived in Lancaster for a while, during his time with KSS. Cunningham left PA at some point, so we are unsure his activities currently, but he is still a nazi and KSS member.

A more recent pic of Cunningham with his wife. Anti-Communism is a common obsession for KSS members.
